David was the son of Bobby Joe Sr.and Iris Stafford Guy,of Spartanburg co. S.C., he was the grandson of Joe and Lily Guy and Bryant and Alma Stafford. He is survived by 2 sisters Nancy Guy Miller, and Kemberly Guy, and also 2 brothers Bobby J. Guy Jr. and John Michael Guy. David went to school in Spartanbrug co. and graduated from Clemson U. And then he joined the Navy. After the navy he settled down in Silver Spring MD. David was my brother-in-law, he was very kind, he loved animals, and gardening and cooking, he was just a great guy with many friends. David developed HIV in the early 80s I think, as he did'nt tell his family much about it. Finally on a visit to our house he told me. I begged him to tell the rest of the family, but he was afraid they would turn their backs on him. Iloved him for HIM. And told him they would also. When he got sicker he did tell them, and I was wrong, they did shut him out. So every friday night until he died I called him or he called me to see how he was. I told him I would never shut him out. We came to be very close, as he got sicker I begged his mother to go see him, I told her,she had to go before it was to late, but when she got there he was already in a coma. I had talked to him early in the day and told him she was on her way, so I think that was what he was waiting for. I loved and miss David very much.

Gravesite Details

It has just come to my attention that David's sister did not know he was sick, until he was in the hospital..Anything I wrote was not to hurt anyone, it was David's thoughts and words to me..
