Rev. Root was my 5th great grandfather. I've seen his first name spelled many different ways. He lived into his 94th year. In a letter written by him dated March 23, 1887, he talks about his son, Morgan who died in the Civil War. He also says he lost 3 son-in-laws in the Civil War leaving him with 12 fatherless grandchildren.
