Age 63. Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 11, 2014. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband and best friend Jon Magnus, daughter Pamela Mulder, son Duane H. Bradshaw, brothers Kim (Gail) Lenda and Sam Lenda, and grandchildren Keltyn, Luke, Gwenyth, Jared, and Tessa. Carla will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. Preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Sophie (Yokich) Lenda and brother Erick Slamka. Carla was born July 14, 1950 in South Milwaukee. She grew up in South Milwaukee, WI and graduated from South Milwaukee Senior High School in 1968. She first married to Jon on June 20, 1970 and again on December 12, 2008. Carla worked at Oak Crest Retirement Home in Oak Creek, WI, beginning as a nursing assistant and being promoted to assistant manager. She later worked at Aurora Health Care in medical scheduling. She retired in 2003 and participated in many volunteer activities and hobbies. Carla loved gardening and she completed training to become a Master Gardener and volunteer for the Southeast Wisconsin Master Gardeners. She was also a member and former Vice President of the Southeast Wisconsin Hosta Society. She volunteered and spent many hours locating, identifying and photographing grave sites in area cemeteries for the genealogy website Findagrave.com; BUT her real passion was being the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend she could be. Family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Memorial service to follow at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Autism Speaks are appreciated.
