Of Tavares FL. Formerly of Milwaukee, WI, Eagle Rock, CA and Gary, IN. Fell asleep at the age of 90 years. John was born to Franciscus and Mary (nee Szabo) Dobogai, who immigrated to the U.S. from Budapest, Hungary. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, John worked as a union carpenter in Wisconsin, California and Florida and also owned a cabinetry business, specializing in kitchen remodeling. His love of fishing inspired him to design and build his own 30-foot ocean-going fishing boat. John was a terrific dancer and he traveled the country in order to participate in dancing contests. He was a member of many organizations including the Moose Club, Eagles Club, Elks Club and Kiwanis. John and Charline (Char)(nee Frederick) Longstreet are survived by John's children; John, Jr. (Panagiota Gloria), Reginald (Judith), Jerry (Ann), Evelyn (Eugene) Motley and Ruby (Richard) Trexler. Char's daughter Shannon Deacon and John's sister Margaret Engstrom. They are further survived by over 40 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Froedtert Hospital Foundation Cancer Center, 9200 W. Wisconsin Ave., Wauwatosa, WI 53226 are suggested.
