This little boy's tragic accident and subsequent death was one of the worst calls I've handled as a 911 dispatcher. He was killed in a freak accident with a skid-loader. His death deeply affected every one of us who was involved in trying to save him.

This is his obituary:

Voil Raymond Rogers, 2, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, in an accident at his home west of Whitehall.

Voil came into the world three months premature at 2 pounds, 6 ounces on Sept. 20, 2003. After spending six weeks in the Missoula hospital, baby Voil came home to join his family. Voil was a little spitfire and added such joy to his family and anyone who knew him. Although Voil was with us for such a short time, his passing leaves an ache and void in all our hearts that can never be filled.

Now that he has gone to be with our Heavenly Father, we can only say how thankful we are to have had him in our lives even if only for a short time.

Voil is survived by his parents, Darrell and Elizabeth, big brothers, Connor and Colin, and big sister, Tiffany Rogers of Whitehall; grandparents, Jessie March of Butte, Dick Rogers of Rocker, and David and Sharon Lofftus of Whitehall; and great-grandparents, Alma Hughes of Texas, and Tillie and Jim Lofftus of Turah; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Viewing will be held 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday from K&L Mortuary Chapel at Whitehall. Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Assembly of God Church at Whitehall with the Rev. Bill Lanes officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehall Cemetery.

Memorials: Whitehall Little Guy Wrestling, c/o Rocky Mountain Bank, Whitehall.
