Gustave married Olga Hoffmann in Germany. They had 2 daughters; Martha and Elsa. He came to the United States and sent for them but at the time they refused to come. He stayed with August and Emma Sukkert until he found his own farm. The Sukkerts were notified of his death and had him buried here. Olga died in Germany at the age of 95. August Sukkert made the grave marker.
