Race Car Driver. Born and raised in Greenfield, Wisconsin, he earned a degree in engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He won the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) Rookie of the Year title in 1986, and the 1992 NASCAR championship. He was killed in a plane crash in 1993 in Bristol, Tennessee.
