Joe retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of colonel after serving his country for 31 years. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam. He then became Director, Housing Authority of Riverside County, and was a member of the Military Officers Association of America.
Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Theodora and is survived by wife, Flonita; son, George (Ellen) Guayante; daughters, Cynthia Guayante, Barbara (Ronald) Rodriguez and Linda (Richard) Ankrom; sisters, Eva Chaparro and Gloria Navarro; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A funeral mass was held Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at 10:00am at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 2140 W. Ontario Ave., Corona, CA. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery on Feb. 24th, 2009 at 12:15pm, Staging Area #2. Green Hills Mortuary
