Orville & Maree Gamble
Orville Edward Gamble, 92, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. His wife of 70 years, Maree Elizabeth Gamble, 90, passed away Saturday July 18, 2009, also at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Both died as a result of an automobile accident that occurred on Wednesday, July 15, 2009.
Sgt. Major Gamble, retired, served his country for 30 years in the United States Marine Corp actively engaged in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He will be buried with full military honors.
Visitation will commence at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009. Graveside services will follow at high noon at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include their son, Samual Edward Gamble and his wife, Elisa Hord Gamble of Flora, Mississippi; their daughter, Penelope Ann Nichols of Augusta, Georgia; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
