Death of Mrs. Lewis Jacques.
Mrs. Lewis Jacques of the First ward
died at her home on Water street last
Friday night from a complication of
diseases, after an illness of several
months. The funeral was held on Monday
under the auspices of the Modern
Woodmen of Grand Rapids and Sherry,
and the remains were taken to her old
home at Sherry for burial. Mrs. Jacques,
whose maiden name was Elinore Forest
Bailey, was born at Darlington, Wis., in
1853, and was married to Lewis S. Jacques
in 1883. Besides her husband she leaves
an adopted daughter four years old.
Although Mrs. Jacques had lived in the
city only a year she had endeared herself
to all who had made her acquaintance in
this short time.
