Death of Jeremiah Heath.
The death of Jeremiah Heath oc-
curred at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. Sam Adams of the town of
York, Tuesday morning, August 1,
1891. The deceased was born in Ver-
mont, January 29, 1804. In 1849 he
came to Wisconsin and settled in
Walworth county. The following
year he removed to Weyauwega,
Waupaca county, where he resided
for many years. After the death of
his wife, which occurred September
8th, 1861, he made his home with his
son, Ed of Spencer, up to about three
years ago when he went to the home
of his daughter in the town of York.
Five children survive him, two sons,
Edwin of Spencer and Martin who
resides here and three daughters Mrs.
Carrie Warner of Elysign, Minn.,
Mrs. Minnie Adams of Loyal, Wis-
consin and Mrs. Emma Byer of She-
boygan. The funeral occurred in the
town of York, Thursday of last week
and was conducted by Rev. Jas. Con-
ner of Loyal and the remains were
placed in the York Center cemetery.
During his life he was a man of great
activity and as one of the early pio-
neers of Wisconsin did much to de-
velope the section in which he settled.
The hardships and privations endur-
ed by him during his first year in this
state, would no doubt make an inter-
esting chapter and the simplicity of
his life, free from the cares and tar-
moil of the present day, no doubt,
enabled him to reach the ripe old age
of nearly eigty-eight years. During
his life he witnessed nearly all the
prominent events in the history and
development of this nation, and par-
ticipated in many, and at times relat-
ed many of the events which made
this century one of great progress and
of which he possessed a contemporary
knowledge...
