Born in 1941, Brownie entered militery service May 29, 1943. He served honorably in the K-9 Corp in the Pacific theater, and was discharged October 13, 1944 after an eye injury. He lived out his life at the King Veterans Home, bringing companionship to the residents there until his death May 18, 1949. He was buried in the veterans cemetery there with militery honors, his headstone provided by the King, WI American Legion Post.
