Of Pickerel, WI. My big sister and Godmother Ginger died at Aspirus Wausau Hospital from a very short and unexpected illness. She was 69 years old. She married Albert Bill Gartmann on July 18, 1959 in Oak Creek. He survives. Her children were planning a 50th Wedding Anniversary party for them this summer.

She graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 1957 and worked for South Milwaukee Bank and Ambrosia Chocolate. After raising her family she worked for the Women's International Bowling Congress for eleven years. She was a summer resident of Pickerel for many years and moved there in 1992. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Pickerel, and the Pickerel-Pearson Lions Club where she served as Secretery. She participated in Body Recall classes and the Tuesday swim group at Super 8.

Survivors include her husband Bill, a daughter, Riva (Tom) Heron DVM, Virginia Beach, VA, a son, Scott Gartmann, Jordan, Minn, three grandchildren Christopher, Ryan and Kellie Heron, three sisters, Sandy (John) Lewandowski, Oak Creek, Pat (Mike) Casper, Oak Creek, Terry (Ward) Williams, Milwaukee, a sister in law, Karen Sukkert, Sussex, and her godchild, Florrie Affi, West Allis, also survived by nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

Ginger loved her pets dearly and they were all very special to her. Her cats Brandy and Nikki will miss her as we all will. Ginger was very organized and saved all of her momentos and pictures. She documented a lot and was our family historian. We love you Ginger!
