Murder Victim. A shy, gentle, bashful and quiet woman. Her father a farmer and her mother a worker in town. Like her parents she was a hard working woman. Lilyan had two older sisters and a brother. All of her siblings would marry and move away. Lilyan on the other hand would stay in Lincoln, Nebraska and work everyday as a maid to the wealthy Ward family for half her life. Lilyan was a fifty one year old spinster when she and the Ward family were murdered by Charles Starkweather. He would be convicted and sentenced to death. An execution of Starkweather was done in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1959.
