Obituary taken from The Herald: Mr. Samuel "Sam" Homer Moody, 80, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Born in Dennison, Ohio, Mr. Moody was the son of the late Samuel Ralph Moody and Mildred Hilliard Moody.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War and played the clarinet in the Navy Band. After serving in the Navy, he was employed by the Defense Logistics Agency as a Value Engineering Analyst in Columbus, OH. After 30 years of faithful service, he retired at age 55. He and his wife, Vera moved to Melbourne, FL and basked in the sun for the next 20 years, enjoying each other and lifelong friendships. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and was especially fond of his Chihuahua, Wolf.

He was preceded in death by this parents and his brother, Don Moody. Surviving are his wife, Vera Maria Corniluck Moody; his daughters, Tanya Moody Burkhart and her husband, Ken of Rock Hill, Renee Moody Frederick and her husband, Allen of Reynoldsburg, OH; his sister, Janet Johnson of Ohio; and three grandchildren: Daniel "Danny" Burkhart and his wife Sara, Emily Burkhart and Luke Burkhart.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Moody's name to further Alzheimer's research.
