Police Officer Jeffrey Lee Bull, 35, of Upper Guinnea Road died Saturday morning, May 9, 1987 on Route 202 as the result of a car accident in the line of duty.
Born Aug. 7, 1951 in Presque Isle, Maine, He was the son of Marshall and June (Dyer) Bull. resided in the Lebanon area for about 10 years. He graduated from Somersworth High School, class of 1970 and from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy of Waterville.
Officer Bull had worked as a Patrolman for the Lebanon Maine Police Department for 2 years. He was the past president of the Lebanon PTA, a volunteer Firefighter for the South Lebanon Maine Fire Station, and owner of Bull's Deli & Sub Shop in East Rochester, NH. Jeff played Santa to area children and to his own children. He also cooked many pancake breakfasts for the area children as well.
He was the Widower Of Kathy (Drolet) Bull and is survived by two young daughters, Rebecca Bull and Alyssa Bull, both of Lebanon, Maine; his parents; a brother Robert Bull of Fort Luci, FL.; three sisters; Marcia Lyford of Holden, Maine, Roxanne Weeden of Dover, NH and Tammi Beckwith of Dover, Mass.; several nieces and nephews as well as his in-laws Arthur & Joan Drolet of Middleton, NH.
A Fallen Officers Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the True Memorial Baptist Church, Ten Rod Road, Rochester, NH, with the Rev. Waldon Corbett officiating. Burial will be next to his wife Kathy, at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Farmington, NH.
Approximately 500 Patrolmen and Firemen from across the country, including Canada, will be in attendance and leading the funeral procession as well as attending and taking part in all services.

Jeff was dedicated to everything he was involved in, an entertaining and funny person, a best friend and someone who loved his kids so very much. He was missed by so many people and always will be. His funeral, although sad, was a site to behold and with over 900 in attendance including close to 515 officers and firefighters including border patrol from around the country with color guards from Boston, Mass. The procession was 80 cars long and a 7 gun salute with taps being played. If you met Jeff, you liked Jeff.
Jeff was just going off duty when a call came into the station that two boys ages 14 and 13 yr old had stolen their grandfathers' van, guns and other items with niether knowing how to drive but doing speeds up to 115 mph. Being as dedicated as he was, instead of going home he chose to help his fellow officers. He was unfortunately the lead cruiser in front of the stolen van. When trying to slow the van down the 2 kids clipped his cruiser in the rear while trying to pass him. His cruiser went off the road, into and over five guardrails, flipped over several times, and finally came to a stop, He died on site. The kids who did it, got a slap on the hand because they were juveniles.
