Samuel was the sixth child of eight children born to Christian Daniel Miller, Sr. and his wife Barbara. Samuel married Barbara Lehman in 1762. They had five children:

IMMIGRATION: Emigrated to America in the ship Chance. Charles Smith Captin, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes, with one hundred and ninty-tree passangers, landing at philadelphia, Nov 01, 1763.

He came over on the Ship Phoenix in 1749 as a young boy of 13 with his parents and siblings. Since he was only 13 his name would not be listed on the manifest. His brothers, John and Peter's names were on the manifest.
