Mary Case was the 3rd child of James and Susan (Ralph) Storie. The Storie family immigrated to the Dakota Territory about 1885 settling in Cavalier County near Osnabrock where her family homesteaded. She married Newell Case and remained in the United States while her family returned to Canada.
They had three children; James S., Ralph L., and Ruby V.
Mrs. Mary Case, who has been ill for the past eight weeks, passed away early Monday in the Bemidji Lutheran Hospital. Mrs. Case is a pioneer resident of Bemidji, having come here almost 34 years ago. She was the proprietor of Case's Cash Store and at the time of her death, she was 71 years old.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church.
