David Glenn Bacher, resident of Ponca City and an auto mechanic at Take Ten, passed away Monday, April 26th at his home. He was 43. He was born May 18, 1966, in Ponca City, OK to Glenn and Pam Bacher.

At the age of 2, the family transferred to Anchorage, AK, where David attended kindergarten and learned to ice skate. The family was later transferred to Corpus Christi, TX where he attended the 1st grade. For the next nine years, the family lived in Houston, TX before being transferred back to Corpus Christi to live in Portland, TX.

David graduated from Portland-Gregory High School in 1984. He received an associate's degree in auto mechanics from DelMar College in Corpus Christi in 1989. Shortly after, he became an ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician and Advanced Level Specialist and was an auto mechanic ever since.

David married Adelia Pelayo on May 4th, 1985 in Corpus Christi. Come this May, they would have celebrated 25 years of marriage.

David grew up playing baseball as a pitcher and a catcher. He loved all kinds of music and learned to play the piano and the alto sax as a child. In December 2008, David relocated to Ponca City to help take care of his Dad and the family farm. He loved being outdoors and as a child he spent every summer on the farm in Ponca with his grandma and grandpa. One of his goals was to try to get candid pictures of the various wildlife. David was accomplished in jujutsu-grappling and enjoyed working out. His mechanical ability did not end with automobiles. He could fix almost anything; lawnmowers, tractors, electrical work or plumbing. He loved Dobermans and raised them for the past 20 years. David loved spending time with his children. He was a giver and not a taker; a very kind, gentle, and sensitive individual and he will be greatly missed by his family and his friends.

David is survived by his wife, Adelia, and three children, Daniel and his wife Vanessa, Christopher, and Brittany; grandchildren, Marissa, Sean, and Victoria Pelayo of Corpus Christi, TX; mother Pam Bacher and her husband Dan McKinnis of Sugarland, TX and father, Glenn Bacher and his wife Becky of Ponca City, OK; stepmother, Marilyn Bacher of Ponca City, OK; sisters, Lori Salley and her husband Mike of Albany, OR, and Mandy and Melissa Bacher of Ponca City, OK; nieces, Sarah and Katelin Salley, and Drew Elizabeth Bacher; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Maxine Simmons and Glenn and Naomi Bacher, all of Ponca City, OK.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bacher, Jeff Webster, Joe Suckley, Fred Simmons, Tim Isaacs, Richard Herrera, and Nelson Davis.

Services held Saturday, May 1st, in the chapel of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Tom Ramsey of First Lutheran Church officiating.

An educational fund was established for David's children.
