his death, was killed in action Septtember 25, 1944 in France. He
was a member of the Fifth Division. He was a graduate of Reed Junior
High school and is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Aiken,
1543 West Florida; four brothers, John of Fort Worth, Francis of
Jefferson City, and James and Jack Aitken of Springfield; one sister,
Mrs. Wanda Pettigrew of Springfield, and his grandmother, Mrs. J. O. Pope of Houston, Texas.

Funeral services for Pvt. Arthur Aitken, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Aitken, 1543 West Florida, who was killed in France on September 25, 1944, will be at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Herman Lohmeyer chapel with the Rev. H. T. Abbott officiating. Burial will be in National cemetery, with the American Legion conducting military services at the grave. Pallbearers will be Charles H. Compton, Burney Nimmo, B. L. Eagon, Ralph Mallady, Roland Helvey and Hugh R. Scroggins, Jr.
