Robert, Sr. was killed in a Head-on collision on Monday, July 30, 2001, three weeks after the passing of his father-in-law, Carson Goings.
Both he and Robert, Jr. was in the car. However, the younger Robert survived with minor injuries. Robert, Sr. was buried three weeks after Carson on Sunday, August 5, 2001. Oddly enough, Mr. Willie Vinson passed the next day, on August 6, 2001.
