Musician. Born in Philadelphia, he was a vocalist and longtime member of the popular 1970s rhythm and blues group Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes. They are best known for the hits "If You Don't Know Me By Now", "The Love I Lost", "Bad Luck" and "Wake Up Everybody". Brown remained with the Blue Notes after the departure of lead singer Teddy Pendergrass in 1976 and the death of Harold Melvin in 1997. He continued to perform up until a few months before his death from a respiratory condition.
