Major League Baseball Player. A native of La Guaira, Venezuela, his full name was Carlos Alberto Escobar Martinez. The 6'5, and 175lb, player was signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent in 1983, before making his professional debut on September 2, 1988. He played his final game on July 20, 1995. Martinez played for the Chicago White Sox from 1988 to 1990, Cleveland Indians from 1991 to 1993, and the California Angels in 1995. He finished his MLB career batting average of .258 with 25 home runs, and 161 RBI. He died at the age of 40, in Vargas, Venezuela.
