Roy D. Campbell, longtime Manhattan resident, died Friday at the Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He had been hospitalized since April 11.
Campbell was born March 19, 1911, in Bozeman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Campbell. He attended schools in Bridger Canyon and Bozeman.
During World War II he was a seaman first class in the United States Navy.
Campbell married Margaret Verwolf on September 26, 1936, in Helena. They made their home in Manhattan.
Campbell was employed by the Ideal Cement Company of Trident for the past 23 years. He was a Manhattan resident for the past 27 years.
He was a member of the National Rifleman's Association.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Walter Campbell, torpedo-man second class, presently in the Navy recruiting office at Bozeman; two daughters, Mrs. Chuck (Marlene) Hagan, Ashland, Ohio, and Mrs. Frank (Dixie) Schnetiz, Manhattan; six grandchildren; a brother, Bill Campbell, Manhattan; and a sister, Mrs. Charles Winters, Billings.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Dahl and Vial Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
