She was born August 17, 1927, in Bozeman, a daughter of Thomas and Dirke Vanderwerff Verwolf. She attended school in Manhattan. She married Walter I. Hotzel and they lived in Manhattan. Walter died in 1974. Thelma worked for the Stanley Kimm Potato Farms.
Survivors include four sons, Tom and Richard Hotzel of Manhattan, Roger and his wife, Carrie, and John Hotzel, all of Bozeman; one sister, Iva Matthews of Bozeman; one brother, Pete Verwolf of Los Angeles; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Meadowview Cemetery. Visitation hours are 1:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday. Dahl Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
