Louis Arnold ("Arnie") Pavey, 87, passed quietly in his sleep on February 12, 2007. He was born in Maudlow, Montana on June 22, 1919 to Mabel and Louis Pavey. He was one of 4 children.

He was in the US Army at Fort Lewis, Washington. He married Maxine Grieve on March 20, 1946 in Livingston, Montana. He owned Willow Park Motel from 1959 to 1964 at which time he moved his family to Texarkana, Texas. He was the proud owner of the Arkansas A&W drive-in restaurant on Hickory Street until its closing in 1985. During his operation of the A&W, Arnie was a friend and boss to many employees. To this day, people talk longingly of the A&W both for its good food and great memories that many people shared.

One of Arnie's greatest joys and his proudest accomplishment was his family. He loved playing cards with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, especially on vacations with his family back to his beloved Montana. His ashes will be spread at a picturesque cabin in the remote mountains of Montana.

He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to countless people. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Peggy Buettner and Ellen Bredberg.

He is survived by his adoring wife of almost 61 years, Maxine Pavey; his brother Cecil Pavey; his aunt, Bertha Hinshaw in Polson, Montana; his daughters and sons-in-law Colleen and Gordon Sallee, Shelley and Jimmy Rench; his sons and daughters-in-law Scott and Mary Pavey and Brett and Karla Pavey; and his son Kip Pavey and his dear friend Mary Ann Robbins; his grandchildren: Josh Sallee, Justin Sallee, Megan Pavey, Caitlin Pavey, Casey Rench, Jordan Rench, Kelly Rench, Blake Pavey, Taylor Pavey, Sara Pavey, Ryan Pavey and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Arnie's memorial service will be held at Texarkana Funeral Home, 3515 Texas Boulevard, Texarkana, Texas at 3 pm on Friday, February 16, 2007.
