William Kenneth Sheppard was born 9 January 1919 in Seattle, Washington; died at home 28 March 1995. His ashes joined his wife's in the Pacific Ocean scattered from the same bi-plane, flown by
the same dear family friend. He was educated at Broadway High School, Seattle, Washington; served in World War II in Italy in the 361st Infantry Regiment, 91st Division, as infantry platoon leader. He received the Purple Heart and
Silver Star, and belonged to the 91 st Division Association. He was a plumber until 1951 when he joined the San Mateo Fire Department and rose to the rank of
captain. The children of Katherine Frances7 Skolfield and William Kenneth Sheppard were:

i. Nita Lynn8 Sheppard was born 16 October 1947; married Kenneth M. Dotson.

ii. Nadya Elizabeth Sheppard was born 31 December 1948; married Luis Alonso Clark.

iii. Vivian Viki Sheppard was born 7 January 1951; married, first, Naboro Saito; married, second, Richard J. Hercules II.

iv. Verna Kay Sheppard was born 21 June 1952 in San Mateo, California. She received a B.A. in Wildlife Zoology from California State University, San Jose. In 1994 she was
employed as a payroll supervisor in Bellingham, Washington. She married Paul Alexander Walker, son of Bayard Walker and Mary Houle, on 11 August 1973 in San Mateo, California. He was born in Corvallis, Oregon, on
4 March 1950; was educated at California State University, San Jose and is a self-employed aluminum fabricator. In 1994 they were living in Bellingham, Washington.

v. Judith Ann Sheppard was born 6 April 1954 in San Mateo, California. She received a R.N. degree from Cleveland State Community College, Tennessee, in 1990 and a B.S.N.
in 1999 from Regents College of New York. In addition to nursing in Cleveland, Tennessee, she works as a white-water rafting guide and has been a Red Cross volunteer
since 1980. She married William Carroll Norton III, who was born 15 August 1948, the son of William Carroll Norton, Jr. and Mary Florence Moore, on 21 March 1980 in
Cleveland, Tennessee. She has two stepdaughters: Mary Linda Norton, born 4 February 1968, an interior decorator who married Gary McConnell and has a son, Bailey Peyton McConnell; and a daughter, Kathryn Jill Norton, born 29 April 1970, who has a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and who works as a
white-water raft guide. She is married to Grant Woodruff, father of Frazier Woodruff.
