Fourth child of Abraham and Catherine (Braucher) Monnett. Married 1) Isabella Miller; one daughter, Emma Aurilla. Married 2) Minerva Harvey, by whom he had four children, Byron, Eva, Lola and Lotte. John also had a brief marriage to a woman who identified herself as "Minnie Hastings" in 1896. He was a farmer, stock trader and banker; served as postmaster of Hoover Ohio between 1894-1899. Lived in Scott Township and Grand Prairie Township in Marion, Ohio.

Note: The surname spelling of Monnette is misleading. He did not use this spelling in his lifetime, instead using MONNETT. However, to be in line with site guidelines, Monnette is it for this listing.
