Sister of Abigail Carpenter Jones (buried Idleman Cemetery, Marion County Ohio), first married to William Barks who died four months after their marriage. Following the the death of her sister Abigail in 1835, she married her brother-in-law James Jones in 1837. Mother of at least nine children, and beloved aunt and then stepmother to three. Her stepson Isaiah C. Jones named his daughter "Harriet" (Hattie Belle Jones Monnett Dierdorf) in his stepmother's honor.
