Harry Guild Copeland Jr., known to all as "Sonny" Copeland. Born in Marion Ohio to Harry Guild Copeland and Metta Copeland (nee Bush). Brother to Ruth, Gene, Barbara, Richard, and Paul Copeland.
While Sonny is best known as the long-time caretaker of the Henry True properties in Marion and his service to the True Trust and the Marion County History Association during his lifetime, Sonny was also an avid motorcyclist, and bike racer. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Marion County Bank.
Married in 1935 to Erma Bratton. Sonny and Emma adopted his late brother Richard's daughter, Sharon Dianne, after Richard was killed in a motorcycling accident. Widowed in 1965, he married Arlieu Walters in 1967. She died in 2005.
