JEDDO- Donald H. Newberry Sr., 52, of 5006 Harris Road, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 1992 in San Diego, Calif., following an illness.
He was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Croswell and had been a life long area resident of Jeddo. He married Betty C. Oliver Oct. 27, 1962 in Port Huron.
Mr. Newberry was employed by the James River Corp. He was scoutmaster of Troop 163
Of the Boy Scouts of America from 1975-1980. He served with the Grant Township Fire Department for 32 years and was a member of Jeddo United Methodist Church. He graduated from Croswell-Lexington High School in 1958.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Donald H. Newberry Jr. of Lakeport, Terry A. Newberry of Jeddo, and Douglas P. Newberry of St. Clair, two daughters, Tracy L. and Patti A. Newberry both of Jeddo, two granddaughters, Heather M. and Karen A. Newberry both of Applegate; two grandsons, Cory P. and Collin C. Newberry both of St. Clair, two sisters, Maxine Hyman, and Lucille Caplinger, both of Croswell; a daughter-in-law Christine Newberry of St. Clair, father-in-law Neuman Oliver of Port Huron, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Irene Newberry; two bothers, David O. and Morris Newberry and his mother-in-law Mabel Oliver .
A memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday in the Jeddo United Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald Francis, the church's pastor will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
