Mamie Marie Hanthorn, 74, died at 7:30 a.m. June 25, 2009, at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1934, in Alger to Burley and Rosie Oliver Collins, who preceded her in death. On April 18, 1955, she married Jack L. Hanthorn, who survives in Middle Point. They had been married for 54 years.

Mrs. Hanthorn was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 Auxiliary, Lima, and AMVETS Post 698 Auxiliary, Middle Point. She was active in fund raising activities for Perry schools. She loved spending time with her two granddaughters.

Survivors also include a daughter, Jackie Marie (Jeff M.) Claybaugh, of Lima; two granddaughters, Heather L. Claybaugh and Rachael N. Claybaugh, both of Lima; a brother, Elmer (Erma) Collins, of Lima; a sister, Nellie M. Fraley, of Lima; and a brother-in-law, David (Carol) Long, of Beaverdam.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sibble Taylor, Frances Gay and Shirley Carter; and six brothers, Charles, Roy, Russell, Gene, Donnie and Richard Collins.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Lewis Eastside Chapel. Pastor Jim Holbrook will officiate. Burial will be in Ward Cemetery, Lima.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to hospice.
