Captain Henry Richards Sheridan late 6th. Bn. The Connaught Rangers, Killed in Action, 3rd. Sep. 1916 in the attack on Guillemont, Somme.
Captain Henry Richards Sheridan, Connaught Rangers, who has been killed in action, was a son of the late Mr. Joseph Sheridan, Spencer Park, Castlebar, and son-in-law of Mr. P. E. Meehan, J.P., T.C., Esplanade Villas, Dollymount, Dublin. Prior to joining the Army he was County Court Registrar for Mayo, and recently was appointed Petty Sessions Clerk for his native town. Captain Sheridan was home two months ago, and shortly after his return was promoted to the rank of Captain. H.R. Sheridan attended St. Vincent's College, Castleknock 1892-1895.
