DOYLE - April 19, 1944 (as a result of accident), Douglas Robert (Duggie), dearly loved third son of Olive and the late Edwin Doyle.


Douglas was recorded as the pilot/navigator of a Wellington Mark X bomber, MF 200, which crashed while on a training exercise for night flying.

A memorial plaque has been erected in the village of Normanton-on-Soar, near where the plane crashed.
