=====Misc Newspaper Clippings: a.) Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, August 29, 1910, p.1 Divorced After 56 Years Walter Clark, an Old Soldier Says Wife Is Cruel After having lived as man and wife for 56 years Mr. and Mrs. Walter Clark are to be separated if divorce proceedings filed by Mr. Clark today are upheld in court. The couple were married September 8, 1854, and lived as man and wife until July 4, 1910. It is alleged that the husband is no longer able to do manual labor, and that for that reason his wife has frequently called him vile names, abused him and picked quarrels; that on one occasion she hit him in the eye with a stick of stove wood and almost caused him to lose the eyesight; that he draws $25 per month pension and that she has threatened to poison him if he did not turn over the money to her; that they are now living with Charles Faris and that the wife has tried to persuade Mr. Faris to run Mr. Clark away. Attorney R.L. Morgan brings the suit. Clark is ex-trustee of Salt Creek Township and now lives north of town. He is aged 80 years.
