Organized July 10, 1863, to repel the Morgan Raid. Mustered out July 17, 1863. Enlisted at age 16 July 10, 1863. Discharged July 18, 1863.

Bloomington (Monroe County, Indiana) Telephone, February 12, 1897, p.4 James Bowman, living on Maple Heights, died this morning of pneumonia after an illness of just a week. He moved here from Bedford about three months ago and leaves a wife and four children. Mr. Bowman was a soldier and a pensioner. Funeral tomorrow at 2 o'clock at the house.
