Carhious Joseph Wilturner Died July 4, 2009, at age 83, after a long battle with cancer. Born March 17, 1926, in Port Author, TX, he was raised in Lake Charles, LA, where he attended Sacred Heart School. He entered the Army Air Force in 1945, was discharged in San Francisco in 1946, where, in 1947, he married Margaret Guillory, also from Sacred Heart School in Lake Charles. He is survived by his wife Margaret Guillory Wilturner; son Carhious Wilturner Jr. (Lorna Tripp) of Issaquah, WA; daughters: Josita G. Wilturner of Vallejo, CA, and Susan Wilturner Maccato (Andrea Maccato) of San Jose, CA; grandson Anthony Wilturner of Issaquah, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Susan H. Wilturner, his brothers Leo Wilturner Jr. and Mervin Wilturner; and his sister Sister Josita M. Wilturner, SSS [Sisters of Social Service]. Friends may visit Sunday after 6:30pm, and are invited to attend the Vigil Service Sunday 7:00pm at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Mission St. and Wellington Ave., Daly City. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coming Home Hospice, 115 Diamond St., SF, CA 94114.

Sr. Mary Josita was born Mary Billie Love Wilturner on February 25, 1932 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She entered
the Sisters of the Holy Family on July 1, 1951, taking her final vows on August 15, 1957. In 1983, she transferred to the Sisters of Social Service, renewing her vows on June 7, 1987. She was a graduate of Holy Family College in Fremont, California (B.A. in Religious Studies, 1974); earned Master Catechist certification at the Archdiocese of San Francisco in 1974; and studied in the master's program in Liturgical Studies at St. John's University, Collegeville MN. Sr. Josita's ministries were in catechetics, liturgy and religious education. She died on July 31, 2007 at St. John of God Care Center in Los Angeles, where she had been a resident for many years. She is survived by her brother Carhious Wilturner and his family.
