Music director and conductor. Graduate of the Eastman School of Music and was the principal bass player of the Boston Pops Orchestra and associate principal of the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1940 to 1955. Over the years, he held the position of music director in Nashville, TN, Des Moines, IA, and Jacksonville, FL. He was the founding conductor of the St. Johns River City Band. He served in WW II with the military police, and was awarded a Bronze Star.
