The former Mary Trybala, of 35th Street, was born in this city and attended local schools.
She worked in the transportation department at the Buffalo Avenue Carborundum Co. plant.
Mrs. Rowan was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Polish National Catholic Church.
Her husband, William, died in 1987.
Survivors include a son, Michael, of Holland, N.Y.; a daughter, Joan Stewardson; two sisters, Wanda Winchester of Lewiston and Jennie Penale; two brothers, Edward and Matthew; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton, at the convenience of the family.
