Petty Officer Stoker, H.M.S. Red Gauntlet, Royal Navy. Service no. 306765. Son of Joseph and Jane Belsey, of Preston, Wingham, Canterbury. Age 34.


One of fourteen children to Joseph and Jane Belsey.

Joined the Royal Navy on 28th June 1904, as a Stoker 2nd Class.

Rose through the ranks to Stoker Petty Officer by 1912.

Served out of Harwich during the war.

Died of pneumonia in a hospital in Samford, Suffolk.
