Pilot Officer 87448 William Lionel Beech, 234 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve was the son of Gerard Macklin Victor Beech and Martha Leonora Glover Beech nee Cowan. William was killed in action. His spitfire failed to return from an operational flight near Truro, Cornwall and he was laid to rest at St Eval Churchyard aged 20.

William was entitled to be awarded British WW2 medals.

Commemorated in perpetuity by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
