Killed in the line of duty at Korea on September 1950. Reburial rites will be conducted Monday,January 12, 1953 at 2:00 pm at the Sykes Funeral Home, Berkley. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. He was a native of Harve De Grace, Maryland and had resided in the Norfolk area 15 years before entering the services. He was the son of GEORGE W. BEST and the late Mrs. MARY L. GYSIE BEST. Besides his father, surviving are 2 brothers, JOSEPH F. BEST and GEORGE M. BEST, both of Portsmouth; 3 sisters, Mrs. GERTRUDE EAGER of Newberry, New York, Mrs. SARAH TOTH of New York and Mrs. MARGARET CORDON of Bath, North Carolina. Pallbearers were from Fort Story.
