Clemmie H. Ball
Clemmie Holley Ball, 91, of 1420 South Askin St., Martinsville, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at her home.
Born July 21, 1911, in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Cary Holley and the late Naomi Hollandsworth Holley. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Charles R. Ball Sr.; four sons, George Daniel "Dee" Woody, Jay Woody Jr., Clarence Woody and Charles R. Ball Jr.; a brother, Genus J. Holley; and two sisters, Elvena Holley and Vercie Holley Bolejack.
She had worked at Fieldcrest Mills and later was a homemaker. She was a member of Goodwill Primitive Baptist Church in Ridgeway.
Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Green of the home; two step-sons, Leonard Ball of New Jersey and Virgil Ball of Collinsville; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren, two step-great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Bassett Funeral Service chapel with Elder Paul Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Holley family cemetery in Henry.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home on South Askin Street.
