Minnie Holley Aheron, 88, of Woodland Road, Bassett, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at the Stanleytown HealthCare Center.
Born Jan. 9, 1914, in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late William Holley and the late Mary "Molly" Hollandsworth Holley. Her husband, Willie H. Aheron died in 1982. Also, deceased are two daughters, Marie Emerson, Catherine "Kitty" Sheppard; a sister, Doris Merriman; brother, Billy Holley; a granddaughter, Pamella Aheron; and a great-granddaughter.
She retired from Bassett Furniture Industries and was a motor route carrier for the Martinsville Bulletin for 13 years. She also was a member of Fairway Baptist Church near Bassett.
Surviving are one daughter, Pat Helms of Bassett; three sons, Joe Aheron of Bassett, Pete Aheron of Henry and Willie Aheron of Bassett; a half sister, Dirvie Hall of Bassett; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairway Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Montgomery and Ron Peal officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at Collins Funeral Chapel in Bassett from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.
