Robert Joseph Brozowski, 77, of Emmett Township died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at home. He was born Monday, October 10, 1932, in Detroit the son of the late Arthur and Cecelia (Bem) Brozowski. His marriage to Patricia E. Bligh was Saturday, June 4, 1955, in Detroit. Robert served his country with the United States Army in Korea from 1952 to 1954. He joined the Detroit Police Department in 1955, serving in several divisions and being promoted to sergeant in 1969. Working in the motor traffic division until 1975, he was involved with many escorts of dignitaries including several U.S. Presidents. Robert spent his final six years with the aviation division piloting helicopters and airplanes with retirement in 1980. Robert had started farming in crops and livestock in 1969 until 1984 when he had developed the B.S.T Orchard that he had continued to operate. He was a former security officer for the Stroh's Brewery from 1985 until it closed and St. John Hospital, Detroit as a supervisor with retirement in 1994. He was a charter member of the Capac Athletic Booster Club, Capac American legion, Past President of the Capac Lions Club and former 1988 St. Clair County Sheriff candidate. Surviving in addition to his wife Pat of 55 years are four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Michelle of Colorado Springs, CO, Steven and Kimberly of Lapeer, Joseph of Emmett and Patrick and Elizabeth of N.C., daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Jean Godin of Lake Orion; 19 grandchildren; three great grandchildren, aunt, Stella Bem Jenkins of Portage, PA, brother and sister in-law, Richard and Patricia of Berville, sister and brother-in-law, Maryann and Robert Rilley of Romeo, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Chuck and Judy Bligh of Capac and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Brozowski. His family honors the memory of Robert and invites you to visit and share memories Sunday 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Scripture services will be 7:00 p.m. Funeral services with military honors will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Fr. Richard Lewnau, pastor of Our Lady of Mt.
