Sarah Jones was the daughter of Morgan & Mary (Davis) Jones. She was 1 of 11 children. Her siblings were Morgan, Owen, Eleanor (Ross), Ann (Beeler), David, Samuel, Jane (Long), Mary (Kees), Ruth & Esther (Mundell).

From 1773 her parents lived in Marshall Co, WV. Because of Indian attacks in 1777 they moved back by her Davis grandparent in Fayette Co, PA. In Jan 1793 they moved to Dunkard twp, Greene Co, PA.

On 20 Sep 1802, in Dunkard twp, Greene County, PA, Sarah married Isaac Buckingham, son of William & Jane (Jones) Buckingham. Isaac was a 2d cousin.

For 30 years the couple stayed in Pennsylvania and had a family of 10 children, Morgan, Jane (Boys), Ruth (Remley), Eleanor (Hammers), Mary (Garrison), Hannah (Forbes), Enoch (died young), William, Daughter (died infant) & Sarah (Forbes).

In 1830 Sarah and her sisters sued their brother Morgan for their rightful inheritance from their father's estate. In 1832 the court found the sisters were due $484.

In 1832 Mary & Isaac and their family moved from the hills of Greene Co, PA to the rich farm lands of Woodford Co, IL. The family came by steamer on the Ohio & Mississippi rivers to St Louis, then flatboat up the Mississippi and Illinois rivers to Lacon (then known as Columbus), where they landed on the 29th day of April.

All of Isaac & Sarah's living children & their children ultimately made the move to Woodford Co, Illinois as well as some of the Jones & Ohio Buckinghams.

The families acquired much land, prospered and grew.

The Buckingham cemetery where Isaac & Sarah are buried was a part of his original farm land. Today Buckinghams still live on some of the original land and are being buried in the Buckingham cemetery.
