William Hunter was a Turnkey at Pikesville Jail in Baltimore County. He was beaten to death by two escaping prisoners. He was survived by his wife Nannie Louise Berg Hunter.

John Hunter was Deputy Sheriff of Baltimore Co. 1800-1806 and High Sheriff of Baltimore City & County in 1806.
