BALTIMORE CITY POLICE OFFICER
SHOT AND KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY
On January 29, 1964 at 1:35 PM, Off. Profili answered a bank alarm at 520 Franklintown Road. Off. Profili arrived at the bank as the three suspects were still inside. As Off. Profili cautiously opened the front door while drawing his revolver, two of the suspects who were standing near the door pointed their handguns @ the officer. As Off. Profili began to slowly retreat from the bank to summons help one of the suspects fired striking Off. Profili in the head. The suspects were eventually apprehended by the FBI. Off. Profili died 10 days later without ever regaining consciousness. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
