Charles could have served at the Somme, Argonne Forest, where the final allied push, against the German lines, took place. Final assaults began in late August 1918, and continued through to the final surrender of German troops, at 11:00pm (2300 HR) on the 11th of November 1918.

In 1919, President Woodrow Wilson would request that the 11th of November be set aside as "Veterans Day."

Until the "Place of Death" (POD) is confirmed, it will be listed as the place of burial. Edited: 02 Apr 2014
