Arthur Boatright dies in Marion

Arthur Boatright, 64, at 802-1/2 Public Square, was found dead in his apartment at 9 am today by his son Charles, Marion.

Mr. Boatright was discharged Friday from Marion Memorial Hospital after 10 days treatment for a heart condition. He died in his sleep.

He was a piano tuner for the Heyde Furniture Store and operator of a radio shop as a young man. He operated a restaurant at 802 Public Square until prohibition was repealed in 1933 when he converted the restaurant into Boatright's Lounge. He operated it until he retired in 1958.

Mr. Boatright was born in Saline County, Sep. 12, 1897. He was a member of the Marion Elks Lodge. He leaves his son; mother, Mrs. Hardenie Boatright of Anna; brother Joe of Marion; and granddaughter Beth Ann Boatright of Marion.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Wilson Funeral Home of Marion. The Rev. W.A. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
